Something to help remember the Diamond Jubilee
During the rest of the activities on Tuesday 5 June, a commemorative tree was planted on Old Buckenham Green. The tree was a quercus robar, a red oak, and it was ceremonially planted by Paul Boggia. A suitable plaque will be installed later.
Very little appears to have been done in Old Buckenham for the Queen's Golden Jubilee ten years ago but newspaper reports state that a tree was planted on the Green for the Silver Jubilee in 1977. So far no one has been able to point out where this thirty-five year old tree was planted. Perhaps someone can get in touch and solve this mystery.
