Even more Diamond Jubilee in Old Buckenham
Prancing amongst planes
The weather may have dampened proceedings at Old Buckenham Airfield during the day but things all became alive in the Sunday evening. Some planes had been moved out of the Blister Hangar, straw bales and bunting had moved in and the stage was set for an evening of fun and dance.
Lots of tickets were sold for the Diamond Jubill Barn Dance (young children could come along for free) so up to a couple of hundred people came along for a chance to dance the evening away. Some appeared to be experienced barn dancers with all the right shirts and headwear while others were just willing to learn and have a good time. For others it was just a chance to sit around the edge, chat with their friends and watch all the cavorting in the middle.
The blog editor is willing to admit that he didn't stay to the end (he is getting on a bit) so why not put your views on the evening in the 'comments' below.
Today, Monday, is planned as a day of rest and a chance to recharge batteries before all the activities on the village Green tomorrow. Many will be watching the local weather forecasts and hoping that the promised rain does not come until later in the day.
