At their July monthly meeting, Breckland Flower and Garden Club welcomed David Wright, florist and flower arranger from Norwich. David’s demonstration was titled “It’s an Education”. But the only cane he used was in the mechanics of his beautiful flower arrangements with titles from school lessons such as history, needlework, after school club and drama which included a life-sized arrangement representing a soldier on horseback from the War Horse musical. Whilst David worked on his arrangements he shared his love of cycling, kayaking, his unique collection of sheds and the dilemma he was having regarding rescuing a derelict grain silo. Margery Greenwood gave the vote of thanks. The afternoon concluded with the results of the flower competitions and the raffle with several lucky ladies taking David’s arrangements home.
In the flower competition for a ‘Summer table arrangement’ the cup was presented to Mary Loose. The table show for three stems of hot colour from the border was won by Sally Westrup.
