Saturday 4 July is the chosen date
Planning has started for the Old Buckenham village fete to be held in the summer of 2015. With a date of the fourth of July it has been decided to give the event an American theme wherever possible. It is hoped that all stallholders will join in and give a touch of the USA to their displays on the day.
It is intended to bring back judging of the stalls to see who has put most effort into their appearance and also to have a children's fancy dress competition. There will be the usual art exhibition, the refreshments will have a different flavour and maybe we will be 'soaking the sheriff' with water pistols rather than just throwing sponges.
The little group organising the event would appreciate any ideas you have to help the day along. Perhaps a line dancing group for an arena display or even a lassoing or ropework demonstration. Do a little lateral thinking and contact Alison on 01953 860692 with all your ideas.
The next meeting of the organising group will be on Monday 10 November in the Memorial Room at the Village Hall starting at 7.30pm. You will be most welcome to come along then with your ideas and suggestions.
