Garden walk in Old Buckenham

Breckland Flower and Garden Club

May's meeting was very well attended to watch Judy Barham interpret a walk through her garden. Her first arrangement - on the patio - included white arum lilies in a large pot; a hanging basket came next adorned with red gerberas, pale green lisianthus and tree heather. Passing down the garden to the log pile - a very 'natural' design with antirrhinums, carnations and green 'anastasia' chrysanthemums. On to the vegetable patch and cutting garden where she collected stocks, delphinuims and vibernum opulis (snowball tree) and carefully arranged them in a large basket. From the greenhouse came liatris and pale orange gerberas. After a busy afternoon Judy reached the bottom of her garden where she decorated two chairs with designs containing lilies and an unusual rose called 'cool water'. If your raffle number came up it was difficult to chose which design to take home…
In the arrangement competition for 'down the garden path' the New Hands winner was Alison Vivian, and Old Hands and monthly cup was won by Alison Walker.
Note that the June meeting will be held at Furze House ,Harleston Road, Rushall, Diss, IP21 4RT.
